100 out-of-focus photos

One photo out-of-focus is a mistake, ten photos out-of-focus are an experimentation, one hundred photos out-of-focus are a style.

i begin my first photo project today. the photo came first, a blur on purpose or maybe not. but the result i loved. so i kept it. and now, adding it with the words above, i’m starting the photo project of collecting 100 out-of-focus photos. feel free to collect photos that are out-of-focus along with me.

Really cool blurred shot. It made me want to paint that picture…but I can’t. I’m out of paint, and I’m a jobless teenager. :(

Out of focus photos are great though. Although sadly, I only have a couple. :(

This one admittedly was done on accident. xD http://www.flickr.com/photos/37836303@N04/3733824879/

And this one was intentional: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37836303@N04/3740335738/

I idg the layout of your new website. I’ll be checking back here. :]

i love out of focus photos. i just took a bunch today while photographing some cherries. intentionally, too. :)

i love when a blurry shot that was not intentional looks so cool that you like it better than what you had hoped it would turn out like focused. those are the kind of shots i love to put on my ethereal blog.

this is so cool. and i LOVE that quote!

i’ll have to post one of my cherry shots soon, and i will link to your project. :)

Lovely, lovely! As with Lee–I’ve saved a few as ideas for painting. It’s amazing how an image can communicate with clarity even in a blurred state. Way cool!

    Very serene… great shot.

  • We love this! I have never heard that qoute before but it is wonderful as is your project! I think Blur is every much apart of the photographic process, perhaps even more that sharpness. Can’t wait to watch this series take on a life of it’s own.

I came here through Georgia’s & Elk’s blogs and am very fond of this shot. this idea. that quote. an out-of-focus world is one I frequent. Beautiful shot.

I like your blurry shot…..if blurry is becoming an art…hell, I just may have a chance!!

  • Tracey says:

What makes it beautiful (and work) is the simplicity of color and the simplicity of lines. I love it. Am going to try a few myself thankyouverymuch!

  • Gail says:

    Love that quote!

I’ve been experimenting with out-of-focus as well lately, and I love the quote.
