the first female to add to my collection of strangers. was out yesterday with my camera for the first time in a while. it felt right. i was seeing photos again, overwhelmed by the beauty that surrounded me. what better place to be then in dumbo below the manhattan and brooklyn bridges, surrounded by the sculptures that are inspiring in the park for the summer.
i didn’t really think about how nervous i might be to take her photo. i simply asked, without really thinking at all, now that i reflect. she didn’t care, as she went on drawing the manhattan bridge in lipstick that had been found in the grass. (o and don’t you just love her hair… wish i could get it done to my hair… but i’m still hung up on how it would go with work…)
I’ve wanted dreads forever, but same problem…even in a creative publishing office it might be weird.
At first I thought she was you, but then I thought, “Alicia doesn’t look like that…and she couldn’t have grown dreads that fast.” xD
Very interesting though. Never heard of a lipstick artist on the streets before. It’s fun, AND it’s legal. Cool. Too bad it’s not more permanent…
only in new york. what a perfect place to do your 100 strangers project.
