iphone photos or iphoneography

i’ve recently started trying to take my photo a day using my iphone on days when i don’t have my dslr. because of where i work, i’m unable to bring my camera to work with me, so i can’t get any photos throughout the day… i’ve recently realized that indeed i can get photos using my iphone.
here’s a photo i took today at the strand near union square, new york city. i pulled it up in photoshop and did a bit of editing - curves and black & white. i took it on my way up the stairs to the photography section :)
i thought i’d also share this because of a discussion posted in one of my flickr groups. the person mentioned camera bag, an app originally for the iphone that is now becoming available for macs. i’ve had camera bag for a bit, and i like it a lot more when i first got it. now, i’m kind of bored with it… and not really using it anymore.
i’ve been debating on getting the app called the best camera, which i first found at this website (which i follow regularly and love love love). looking around, i found a few photos taken with iphones… i also joined a few groups on flickr so i have another place to share my iphone photos (or iphoneography, as some people are calling it).
links to some of the iphone photos i found:
and this one was done with the best camera <quantities> of human beings.
on second thought, check out the whole set taken with the best camera
black and white roll of film
i debated whether or not to share all these photos, but i decided to go ahead and post them. there are a few that i don’t particularly like… but here’s my set of black and white with my subject being a roll of film.

black and white at home
i was randomly inspired to take black and white photos late this afternoon, right as the sun was setting for the day. the lighting wasn’t perfect… but i like the way they came out, so i guess it didn’t matter. watch for my next set of black and whites… i continued to be inspired, long after the good lighting was gone…

angle change

i see this view everyday. it’s framed in my house, but the photo i have framed is a little further away, horizontal, and straight. even though i have this photo already, i can’t help but snap it again. and again. but each time i take another photo, i look for new ways to capture the same thing. does anyone else do this, capture photos of the same thing over and over but in different ways each time?
music and thoughts

love these photos in black and white. they were taken in washington square park a couple weeks ago. i love them and have been waiting for the perfect moment to share them… but i realized that if i didn’t just post these photos, i might never get them up.
washington square park is one place i don’t go to often enough. the park was one of my favorite places in the city from the first time i walked the streets of manhattan. i love the creative energy that fills the park. i need to go there more often. i need to take advantage of the inspiration.
overexposed
i recently shot this overexposed photo in my haste to capture their smiles.

my settings weren’t correct. but i didn’t want to not have this photo. i quickly fixed my settings and got other photos, but this one, of course didn’t happen again. so, i opened it up in photoshop, edited & made changes, and turned it into this.
it is still overexposed, but i don’t think i mind it at all. it reminds me of a memory, how it’s not so sharp, not perfectly clear.
the trick
when seth has his skateboard out, he’s often doing some sort of trick… nothing too crazy, maybe a board flip or twist. (i know they have official skateboard names, but of course, i don’t know them.) more often then not, other skaters we see are young kids, and recently someone told seth he was too old to skateboard. but here he is… doing his skater-thing. i don’t think he looks too old to skateboard, do you?
photo posted for best shot monday. o and look in the background, do you spy the empire state building? it’s made it into a lot of my recent photos.
