i love the lines that were created in this photo out-of-focus.

love it. love their simple beauty.

wish i were in a field of flowers taking photos today. went back in my files to find some wild flowers from colorado to photoshop…

my favorite photos are always the vintage-y feel ones… with the yellow tones and warm feelings. sometime i just cannot get photos there though… depending on the colors in the photos or whatever and probably what i’m doing in photoshop. but this one makes me happy. i love the yellows of these flowers. i used part of the action that i shared earlier (with the keep of the dunes photo). but i didn’t click the lighting step, and i also made a few adjustments to other steps, added a few… and this is what i got.

when i start looking for something, i start seeing it everywhere. each time i pull out my camera, i see the blurry moments everywhere waiting to be captured. and when i’m reading other’s blogs, i see blurry photos, beautiful blurry photos. i love all the photos i’ve seen, and wished i’d had a way to share them all together… when i remembered… flickr. so away i surfed across the internet, and poof: a new group is started. go. join. share the blur in your life. so many wonderful out-of-focus photos have already been shared across the blogosphere… please head over to the 100 out-of-focus photos group and add a few of your own so that everyone can see and share!

my favorite colors to photograph are greens and blues. these are a few from last saturday’s walk in the park. i hope to be back next week with a few photos from real nature (real as in outside of the city).

out-of-focus #6

i love the sidewalks in my neighborhood. every 20 feet or so, a tree is growing and around that tree, a passerby may have the pleasure of seeing a small but beautiful bit of nature growing. this is a sidewalk garden with purple beauties. on the bottom of the photo you can see the blurred wrought iron fence that protects it.

this is my first photo project that i’ve started inspired by a photo i took. i am only on photo 6, but i am already loving where this has gone and looking forward to where this will go next. and since the project was started, i’ve seen other wonderful out-of-focus photos. georgia and i were on the same thought path because when i posted my project and she was sharing blur she’d captured. i love moments when people connect thoughts by magic across the universe. and then elk posted her out-of-focus inspiration through her post embrace the blur. and the always inspiring mrs. e shared a blurry photo that she couldn’t bring herself to delete, describing these out-of-focus treasures to be much like memories… and shared her beautiful words, blur happens! sometimes i’m grateful for that.
